The Best Gift a Scout Could Ever Get

Hey Scouts and friends!

So, I’ve been thinking… What's the best gift a Scout could ever get? And honestly, it’s not always the shiny badges or fancy camping gear (though, don’t get me wrong, those are awesome ). The best gift is something that makes your Scout life better, more fun, or helps you help others.

Here’s my list of the ultimate Scout gifts:

1. A New Pocketknife or Multi-Tool

Every Scout needs one. Perfect for campouts, projects, or just showing off skills you learned in Scouts. Just remember—use it safely! No one wants a Scout hospital story.

2. A Journal or Notebook

Keeping track of adventures is the BEST. You can write down campfire stories, ideas for projects, or even sketch cool stuff you see on hikes. Plus, it’s fun to look back at all the crazy things you did in Scouts.

3. Scout Gear Upgrades

A new backpack, sleeping bag, or even cool patches can make camping trips way more fun. And honestly, having a cool patch collection is kind of like bragging rights at camp.

4. Time with Friends or Family

This might sound a little weird, but the best gift can be just going on an adventure with someone. A hike, a campout, or even a game night counts. Scouts are all about teamwork, and sharing experiences with your friends or family is priceless.

5. Opportunities to Help Others

This is the coolest gift ever. Volunteering, helping with a community project, or just doing something kind for someone else—that’s what Scouts are all about. Nothing beats seeing someone smile because of what you did.

At the end of the day, the best gift for a Scout isn’t always something you can buy. It’s the experiences, the skills you learn, and the friends you make along the way. Every campfire story, every knot you tie, every badge you earn—that’s what makes being a Scout awesome.

So this holiday season—or honestly anytime—think about giving a gift that helps a Scout grow, explore, and have fun while helping others.

What’s the best gift you ever got as a Scout? Drop your answers in the comments—I’d love to see them!
